Blues You Can Use Fans,

As you may already know the news today that Koko Taylor “The Queen of the Blues” has passed away this day of June 3, 2009. Both myself and John were taken back by the news since she was always in good spirits in for the most part always had much more energy than we did in the studio. Koko Taylor will be missed by us… her family… Blues musicans & fans from around the world, but forever will we remember her passion for the Blues and her love for the music… musicians and the fans that she always made time for. Koko Taylor will live on forever as a legend… for her influence has made the biggest impact on the artists for a new generation.

Here is another response sent to us via email to Clarence at bluesdj23@hotmail.com

Got the call today around 4pm and was stunned. Didn’t expect this at all. I can only thank Clarence for letting us cross paths and this goes back to about 1990. We had some great times with her indeed. Remember her b-day party at her house? Surrounded by blues royalty that day, Koko, Lonnie Brooks and his sons, Buddy, you and then me, the only “white boy” there but she took to me like I was one of her grandkids. I will never forget that. We all know what she could do on stage and in the studio but you all need to know what a sweet lady she was. She was all that and more and she will be so very missed. I have this picture in my head that Willie & Muddy were waiting for her today and right about now there is one hell of a blues party going on upstairs…
